Barrett Tanks specializes in creating the highest quality custom aluminum fuel tanks, marine fuel tanks, marine waste tanks, and marine holding tanks. All of our tanks are triple pressure tested to exceed the minimum requirements set in accordance with ABYC & NMMA regulations [at 3 psi under 33 CFR 183.510(a)]. We make sure to take the extra time to make sure all of our marine fabrication projects exceed the requirements and are built to last.
If you are in need of the best, most-rugged, custom marine fabrication products, you came to the right place. If you are looking for boats for sale, or facts about boats you probably want to look elsewhere. We specialize in custom aluminum tanks for boats of all sizes! All of our products undergo significant scrutiny during all stages of the production cycle. This ensure that everything that carries the Barrett Tanks stamp of approval is built to perform in the most demanding circumstances.
Here is what makes our custom marine tanks outperform the “other guys”:
Some of the people who were interviewed during the course of the UL study stated that the “industry fix” for corrosion problems with .090″ wall thickness aluminum fuel tanks was to switch to a thicker .125″ sheet aluminum for any replacement products. The thicker sheet aluminum will not only reduce the susceptibility of the tanks to corrosion, but also reduces the number of fuel tank failures due to fatigue at the baffle welds!
The most important consideration with the use of a permanently installed aluminum fuel tank is being careful to make a good installation. Aluminum tanks must be carefully installed so as to avoid any condition that will trap moisture against the tank. Putting aluminum in direct contact with salt water will corrode the aluminum rapidly!
If harsh elements or salt water corrosion are concerns for you, be sure to ask us about our epoxy coating process that will extend the life of your aluminum products indefinitely!
